In the latest escalation between the world’s two largest economies, China said Friday it will raise tariffs on American goods to 125 percent starting April 12. The Pentagon has dismissed the commander of a U.S. base in Greenland, citing her opposition to the administration’s policy toward the Danish territory. The move follows her base-wide email that broke with official messaging after Vice President JD Vance visited the base.

The White House says Trump is dissatisfied with how Russia and Ukraine are handling peace talks, as a U.S. envoy meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Separately, the United States and Iran are scheduled to hold nuclear talks on Saturday. If no deal is reached, the United States is threatening military action.
