Iran to Shut Strait of Hormuz if Trump Hits Energy Sites Within 48-Hour Ultimatum

Iran said on Sunday it will move to shut down the entire Strait of Hormuz if President Donald Trump follows through with his threats to hit Iranian energy facilities in 48 hours. And, the Department of State on Sunday again advised American citizens around the world to “exercise increased caution,” renewing a worldwide caution alert that was issued by the agency in late February amid concerns about the Iran war.
President Trump said he will deploy Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to airports to help Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents manage security checkpoints. The Trump administration has placed border czar Tom Homan in charge of the ICE deployment that will kick off on Monday.
President Trump’s nomination of Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma to be the next head of the Department of Homeland Security advanced toward final confirmation after the Senate voted 54-37 to limit debate on the appointment.
