The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the Biden administration in a major social media free speech case. The justices voted 6–3 that Missouri and Louisiana lacked standing to sue the administration for alleged censorship. The nation’s highest court declined to impose limits on the way the government may communicate with social media platforms.

According to a prematurely posted opinion, the Supreme Court may be denying Idaho’s request for an emergency review of a lawsuit over its abortion ban. If the opinion is released, it would allow emergency abortions in Idaho when a pregnant patient’s health is at serious risk. The Supreme Court confirmed that a document was leaked, but did not specify how final the document was.

Both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have unveiled their strategies for the first presidential debate on Thursday. President Biden’s campaign said he will go after his rival on abortion, the economy, the border, social security, and Medicare, and former President Trump’s claims about the 2020 election. Former President Trump’s campaign said he will focus on immigration and inflation.

The Department of Homeland Security has said that since President Biden took executive action earlier this month, illegal border crossings have dropped by more than 40 percent. The figure is at its lowest point since the president took office.

The State Department has released its 2023 International Religious Freedom Report. The annual report highlights religious persecution by the Chinese communist regime, ISIS, Pakistan, and other countries, as well as hate crimes in the United States.
