The Supreme Court Friday overturned the 1984 ruling Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council. This means that going forward, federal agencies no longer have as much power to interpret the law when the language is unclear.

In another ruling, the high court sided with Joseph Fischer, a Jan. 6 defendant who challenged his charge of obstructing an official proceeding. The ruling could potentially affect about 350 Jan. 6 defendants with the same charge, including former President Donald Trump.

The Supreme Court also ruled that cities can ban homeless people from sleeping outside in West Coast areas. The justices decided that the city of Grants Pass, Oregon, can punish homeless people for sleeping outdoors on public property.

President Joe Biden addressed concerns over his age following the first presidential debate. He said during a rally in North Carolina that he is not a young man and doesn’t speak as smoothly as he used to, but that he knows how to do the job.
