President Donald Trump arrived in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Tuesday for a two-day summit with NATO leaders. Trump met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is this year’s host, and announced that he is working to lift sanctions preventing Turkey from obtaining F-35 fighter jets. NATO’s 32 member countries are meeting to discuss the president’s demands for increased defense spending commitments.

New York City has evacuated multiple buildings, including a school, and closed streets in midtown Manhattan after structural columns buckled from a high-rise building that is under construction. The office building, which formerly housed Pfizer, is still unstable and continues to move hours later.

Democrats retract endorsements for Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner following an allegation of sexual assault that was reported by Politico. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and the Maine Democratic Party called on Platner to withdraw from his race against Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine).
