The Department of War announced the designation on July 23 in an update to a roster of academic and research institutions that it has determined to be risky to American research and intellectual property.
The Trump administration expands its legal campaign against state laws that provide certain benefits to illegal immigrants. With an Illinois federal court ruling last week that in-state tuition, as applied to illegal immigrants, violated the U.S. Constitution’s Supremacy Clause and are ‘unconstitutional and invalid.’ The DOJ argued the state unlawfully allowed certain illegal immigrant students to receive in-state tuition while requiring out-of-state U.S. citizens to pay higher tuition.
