Trump and Mark Carney met for the first time at the White House

President Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met for the first time at the White House today. The two leaders exchanged differing opinions on trade and territorial issues. During the meeting, President Trump told the Prime Minister that he still wants Canada to become the 51st U.S. state, to which Carney responded that Canada is not “for sale.”

The Supreme Court has allowed the Trump administration to enforce its ban on transgender individuals serving in the military while it appeals a lower court’s ruling. In a social media post, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt hailed the decision as a “massive victory.”

Tensions rose between India and Pakistan after the Indian Army confirmed it had carried out targeted airstrikes on alleged terrorist camps inside Pakistani territory. In a statement, India’s Ministry of Defense described the operation as “focused, deliberate, and non-escalatory,” adding that it came in response to a terrorist attack last month that killed dozens of Indian citizens in Kashmir.
