Trump Opens Roosevelt Library; Climbers Scale Empire State Building | NTD Evening News

President Donald Trump kicked off July 4th celebrations on Wednesday, cutting the red ribbon to officially open the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. Trump delivered remarks during the dedication ceremony, paying tribute to Roosevelt and describing him as “a man who embodied the heart and soul and fight and spirit of our country.”

The President has sounded the alarm on the rise of communism in America today, saying it “is the greatest threat to our country,” following the successful primaries in New York and Colorado of Democratic Socialists. Trump told audience members that Roosevelt was “a staunch and ferocious opponent of a thing called communism.”

The Department of Justice announces new federal charges against eight illegal immigrants who are allegedly members of Tren de Aragua – the Venezuelan gang designated as a foreign terrorist organisation – in its ongoing efforts to fight against transnational crime. The charges were filed for two separate crimes of kidnapping and murder.

Two masked individuals are in custody after climbing to the top of New York City’s Empire State building’s spire. The duo flew a banner from the top which read “when the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace.”
