Trump: ‘Record-Setting’ Tax Refunds; Homan: Possible Drawdown in MN | NTD Evening News

President Donald Trump said at a cabinet meeting on Jan. 29 that federal tax refunds are expected to be significantly higher for millions of people during the 2026 tax season, which started this month. He added that Americans will soon receive “record-setting tax refunds” made possible by a tax cut that was passed under the One Big Beautiful Bill last year.
White House border czar Tom Homan said he has ordered federal immigration authorities to work on an eventual drawdown plan for law enforcement in Minnesota. Operations on the ground will be targeted he said, adding he’s “staying ‘til the problem’s gone.”
