U.S. Tech Enables China’s Surveillance; FCC Bans Chinese Labs From Certifying U.S. Electronics

American tech companies may have played a much bigger role in aiding China’s human rights abuses than many people realized, according to a recent Associated Press investigative report.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is moving to ban seven China-based test labs. These labs could previously certify electronic devices for use in the United States—but not anymore.
